It’s Sparkly. Very Sparkly. Sparkly. Like a Holiday.
It started from seed this year, but it does look a lot like Henna.
Because it’s sort of average with typical marks for a coleus, we don’t expect much from it, I guess.
The name is in honor of Velvet Mocha, which it resembles quite a bit, but this is hybrid from seed. Ironically, I lost Velvet Mocha this year.
It’s sort of in the manner of…Rose Kong? But it’s one of my hybrids.
The name describes the colors, sort of. Admittedly when I named it last fall, the colors were deeper. This summer they became brighter.
There’s nothing particularly weird about this Coleus, except we needed a name for it, and then we found the weird leaf.
It’s fluorescent brown! Looks like it might have parentage of any of the following: Some random Kong, Kingswood Torch, Festive Dance…who knows? Sure wish I had more than one picture.
Sorry I only have one picture of this because the colors were awesome!
If you use your imagination, you can see lizard-like shapes in the bright magenta.
Update from 2015: This variety sure sports a lot, as I’ve noticed lots of variegated/mosaic types do. Reminds me of Fingerpaint, but a warmer color or “autumn” version of it. One thing I’ve observed about the sporting mosaic (Fingerpaint, Twist and Twirl, etc.) is that they will sport to a solid, but I haven’t noticed…
