Similar to Funky Toad, but narrower leaves.
It reminds me of a commercial Coleus, but I don’t know which one.
This one grew up from a seedling last year and came into its own this year.
No name, just “Sun Coleus” on tag. Nice big dark burgundy ruffles.
This plant is the one in the lower left in the pot. Similar colors to Chocolate Vampire, but this one is quite round and frillier. It’s quite cute.
The bright fluorescent lighting in the room tends to wash out the richness of color in some of these photos. This hybrid has a very dark maroon center, almost black, with a lighter maroon/washed out burgundy outer margin. I’ve never seen anything like it. It’s sort of like Religious Radish, but that one’s outer area…
Growth Update: Late summer I realized I had three of this plant. Not because I had taken cuttings from the previous year, but because I had bought three of them. And they all had tags. Two of the tags actually said, “Roaring Fire,” so I must have missed something in my record keeping. Although beautiful…
