Almost black outer with a hot pink/magenta inner.
It’s sort of in the manner of…Rose Kong? But it’s one of my hybrids.
The name describes the colors, sort of. Admittedly when I named it last fall, the colors were deeper. This summer they became brighter.
There’s nothing particularly weird about this Coleus, except we needed a name for it, and then we found the weird leaf.
Too much magenta!
If you use your imagination, you can see lizard-like shapes in the bright magenta.
Similar to Funky Toad, but narrower leaves.
It reminds me of a commercial Coleus, but I don’t know which one.
I remember Coleus from the 1970s, when I first tried growing them. They weren’t anything like the crazy shapes and sizes like there are now. This one is like a flashback to an earlier time, classic green edges, pink and cream center, oval leaves.
I’m not positive of the name, but I ID’d it by finding very similar plants on the web.
