Salmon Pink Kong

Growth Update: I have one word to describe this Kong: Inconsistent. It might be the light levels or temperature, but I never know what this plant will look like. And The Winner Is…

There were so many awesome Coleus this year, but the most drop-dead gorgeous show-stopping one of them all is most certainly this Kong. It started out as a slightly unique Kong I found at Koepke’s, and labelled a “Mosaic Kong.” It didn’t look like the typical Mosaic Kongs, the ones with splotchy whites and red/roses.…

Baby Kongs

Last summer we discovered that a Mosaic Kong at some point had flowered and gone to seed in its pot. The mother plant had died, but had left us with a million Baby Kongs. We planted them and tried to overwinter them, but I must admit I was bad and didn’t take care of them…

Kong Mosaic (Blushed Cream White)

I had a white Kong last year, but I don’t think it made it. I found this one at Koepke’s, not white, but close. Label says Mosaic, but it’s more like white with a blush, especially in the veins. Last year’s white was also labeled Mosaic.

Large White Kong

Finding a White Kong is rare, but this one has green inside the white inside the green!. I sure wish I still had this one, but Kongs are notoriously hard to winter over, worse than regular Coleus. This is from 2005.
